Edith H. Painter, 94, of Mount Pleasant (East Huntingdon Twp.), formerly of Pittsburgh died Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at her home. She was born April 6, 1916 in Allegheny County a daughter of the late Albert Fred and Marie Caroline Rose Lust. Edith was formerly employed in the Purchasing Department of U.S. Steel, the Alverton Coke Co. and General Refractories Co. in Pittsburgh. She was a member and past president of the Laurel Swingers Square Dance Club and a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Mount Pleasant. She is survived by her companion and special friend, Carl E. Huffman; one son, R. James Everard and his wife Joyce of Pittsburgh; two grandsons, James Everard and his wife Dawn and Joseph Everard and two great grandchildren, Jonathan and Laura Beth. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Oliver K. Painter in 1981 and one brother Fred A. Lust. Friends will be received from 2-4, 7-9 P.M. Friday in the Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., 406 E. Washington St., Mount Pleasant where services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Mark Peachey officiating.
