James Richard Mauk, 66, of Connellsville passed away peacefully, Mon. July 19, 2010 at his home while surrounded and comforted by his loving family. He was born Sept. 7, 1943 in Scottdale, a son of the late Lance and Amelia Warrick Mauk. James was a longtime resident of Connellsville. He was a former employee of Baughman's Garage and a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Scottdale.
James will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his loving family, his wife of 47 years Hazel C. Gemas Mauk, his children Richard Andrew Mauk and fiancee Shelli of Bear Rocks and Tina Marie Hixson and husband Kenneth Ray of Scottdale, his grandchildren Heather Egenoauf and husband Gary and James Saxon Jr. and wife Tara all of Connellsville, Richard A. Zelmore and wife Carrie and Misty Mauk all of Mt. Pleasant, 7 great grandchildren, his brother Charles Mauk and wife Arline of Connellsville, his sister Shirley Swager of Oklahoma, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents James was predeceased by his sisters Hazel Richter and Freda Overton and his brothers Oliver, William, and George Mauk.
Family and friends will be received Tue. from 7-9 PM and Wed. from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Brooks Funeral Home Inc., 111 E. Green St. Connellsville, where a funeral service will be held Thur. at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Dr. Dale Porterfield officiating.
