Loretta Shutterly Norton, 99 of Connellsville, passed away unexpectedly, Fri. July 23, 2010 at her home. She was born July 3, 1911 in Scottdale a daughter of the late Lewis and Kathryn Rogers Shutterly. Loretta was a graduate of the former St. John's High School in Uniontown. Prior to her retirement she had first worked as a Secretary for the law firm of Whitehill and Lane in Uniontown and later worked as a secretary for Aaron's Furniture Store in Connellsville. Loretta was a member of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Connellsville. The family would like to give a special thanks to Loretta's personal and dedicated care givers who had provide such kind and loving care to her for the last 10 years. She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her loving family, her daughters Nina L. Norton of Pittsburgh and Susan N. Kaylor of Connellsville, her daughter-in-law Kay Halfhill Norton of Connellsville, her grandchildren Brocc Kaylor of Champion, Bart Kaylor and wife Marianne of Connellsville, Kara Kaylor of Scottdale, and Robert B. Norton Jr. and wife Leslie of White, and her great grandchildren Sara, Hanna, and Kaylor. Loretta was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents Loretta was predeceased by her husband Abram B. Norton III, her son Robert B. Norton Sr., her sisters Louise Maurer and Mary Weimer, and her brother Ralph Shutterly.
Family and friends will be received Wed. from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Brooks Funeral Home Inc., 111 E. Green St. Connellsville, where a Funeral Blessing Service will be held Thur. at 10:30 AM, with Rev. Joseph Bonafed as celebrant. A committal service and interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville. Donations may be made to the Immaculate Conception R.C.
