Obituary:
Maryrose C. May, 70, of Connellsville passed away Sat. July 3, 2010, after a long and couragous battle with cancer in the Excela Health Frick, Hospital, Mt. Pleasant with her husband "Dick" at her side. She was born May 29, 1940 in Connellsville a daughter of the late James and Bertha Hadden Campbell. Maryrose was a lifelong resident of Connellsville and a graduate of Connellsville High School with the class of 1958. Maryrose retired from Allegheny power Company and also worked at the Allegheny Energy Federal Credit Union. Maryrose was a member of the Connellsville Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley Country Club and Past President of the Ladies Association. Maryrose was a dedicated member of the Connellsville Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star #247, serving the chapter four times as Worthy Matron. Maryrose also worked in the Grand Secretary's Office of the Order of Eastern Star. She was a former Deputy Grand Matron of the Order and currently had the honor as serving as the Grand Representative to Missouri for the Order of the Eastern Star. She held many offices and received many appointments throughout her 49 1/2 years as a dedicated and devoted member. Maryrose was a member of the Margaret E. Caven Shrine, Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, where she was currently serving her second term as the Worthy High Priestess of the Margaret E. Caven Shrine. Maryrose enjoyed bowling, golfing, and was a member of the Valley Girls Red Hats, where she brought joy to everyone. Maryrose also enjoyed visiting the casinos and playing the lottery.

Maryrose is survived by her loving husband of 47 years Richard "Dick" May and her brother Samuel Campbell and wife Janice of Colorado.She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Maryrose is also survived by numerous friends that will forever miss her and the good she did for everyone. Although small in stature, she had huge shoulders for everyone to lean on.

It was Maryrose's request that there be no public viewing. A private service will be held for the family with Rev. Robert Patton officiating. Interment will be private. A memorial service will be held and announced at a later date. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Dr., Pittsburgh, PA. 15205, in memory of Maryrose May.
