Military Rites will be conducted at the cemetery by The Connellsville VFW and American Legion and Trotter American Legion Honor Guard. The South Connellsville Fireman will conduct a service Sunday at 6:30 P.M. and The King Solomon's Lodge #346 F & AM will conduct a Service Sunday at 7:30 P.M. both in the Funeral Home.
Obituary:
Orville D."Toot' Richter, 92, a lifelong resident of South Connellsville, passed away Thur. July 15, 2010 in the Uniontown Hospital. He was born June 12, 1918 in South Connellsville a son of the late Orville and Anna Kate Trump Richter. Toot had formerly worked for the B&O Railroad and later became a partner in the William Garlick & Sons Construction Co. in South Connellsville. He also was the owner of Richter Trucking and a coal strip mining company. Toot was a Veteran of WW II having served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of King Solomon's Lodge #346 F&AM and a Charter and life member of the South Connellsville Vol. Fire Dept. He was a member of the Pennsville Baptist Church.

Toot was passionate about his hobbies of furniture making and gardening. He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his loving family, his daughters Patricia Cavalier and husband Francis of South Connellsville, Linda Means and husband Jimmy of South Connellsville, and Marilee Green and husband Marshall of Kecksburg, his grandchildren Terry Lee Cavalier and wife Florrendia of Monarch, Barbara Ann Beal of Connellsville, David Firestone of Mt. Pleasant, and John Green of Kecksburg, his great grandchildren Abigail Firestone, Terry Lee, Andrew, and Francis Cavalier, and Fallyn Logan, his sister Eleanor Mix of Concord, OH., and his special Brother and sister-in-law Dick and Betty Pilkington, whom they did extensive traveling with.

In addition to his parents Toot was predeceased by his wife of 70 years, Ada Lee Garlick Richter on July 12, 2009, a son William Orville 'Ricky' Richter, a great grandson Phillip Andrew Beal, a sister Margaret Ann Filburn, and a brother George Richter.

Family and friends will be received Sun. from 12 noon - 9 PM in the Brooks Funeral Home Inc., 111 E. Green St. Connellsville, where a funeral service will be held Mon. at 11:00 AM with Dr. Terry V. Murray and Rev. Robert Bixel officiating. A committal service and interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville. Military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by The Connellsville VFW and American Legion and Trotter American Legion Honor Guard. The South Connellsville Fireman will conduct a service Sun. at 6:30 PM and King Solomon's Lodge #346 F&AM will conduct a service Sun. at 7:30 PM both in the funeral home.
