Vernon E. Brown, 71, of Acme died Thursday July 15, 2010 in Excela Health Hospice at Jeannette. He was born August 11, 1938 in Acme a son of the late Ralph and Ida Kalp Brown. Vernon was a self employed excavator and he was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Anna Baughman Brown; four children, Verna J. Retter and her husband Jeff of Vandergrift, David Brown and his wife Jamie of Acme, Linda Brown Glotfelty and her husband Barry of Acme and Brian Brown and his wife Amy of Acme; ten grandchildren; Justin and Jared Retter, Katie, Michael and Sarah Brown, Kylie and Lydia Glotfelty and Jaclyn, Kasey and Dana Brown; one great grandson, Hunter Brown; two sisters, Freda Miller and her husband Joseph of Indian Head and Hazel Wiltrout and her husband Gerald of White; and two brothers, Donald Brown and his wife Mable of Laurelville and Frank Brown and his wife Marlene of Acme. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by three brothers, Philmer, Clyde and Herbert Brown. Friends will be received from 1-9 P.M. Saturday in the Clyde Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., corner of Municipal Building Road and Route 711, Melcroft where services will be held Sunday at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Paul Freidhof officiating.
